    A large retailer of industrial products and tools focused on the do-it-yourself garage mechanic, farmer and recreational equipment owners sought a distribution partner with flexible warehouse space and experience to handle a wide range of products from large industrial air compressors to small hand tools as well as surge capacity to manage the spikes (ranging from two to ten ocean containers daily) inherent in promotional work. Our client sells through 34 retail stores across western Canada as well as through its on-line store.

     

    CHALLENGE:

    To drive retail sales by utilizing weekly promotions advertised in hard copy flyers and on online shopping site. The logistics associated with promotional work is unique and requires a very high degree of flexibility in both warehouse operations and final-mile ground freight. Ensuring that promotional goods are on the retail shelf when needed to drive store and website traffic is essential to successful promotional campaigns. There is zero tolerance for late shipments or missing freight.
