Distribution / Warehousing &
Fulfillment Centre

The Distribution Centre (DC) is often regarded as the centre point from which goods are distributed to stores, customers or homes. The goods are delivered into the regional DC using a combination of Canada Cartage dedicated fleets and freight management services.

For many customers, operating their own DC, or expanding an existing network of DCs is undesirable. Canada Cartage's Direct Distribution Centres represent a cost-effective means to provide cross-Canada service.

Dedicated Trucking Fleets

A distinguishing feature of Canada Cartage is our size and model. Our trucks are often branded with the logos of our customers and our drivers in many cases take instructions directly from them.
With a dedicated fleet, our customers benefit from gaining access to specialized equipment, experienced drivers, sophisticated information technology systems and Canada Cartage's experienced management team. An outsourced dedicated fleet means that customers do not have to invest in trucks, tractors and people.

Home Delivery

Home delivery has been offered by Canada Cartage for many years. Thanks to the range of equipment in the Canada Cartage fleet, home delivery can assume many forms ranging two-man delivery used to deliver appliances or furniture, to specially designed flat deck trucks equipped with cranes and/or Moffat (rear-mounted forklifts) to deliver building/contractor supplies or hard-to-handle goods.

Canada Cartage's home delivery now covers 92% of Canada's population

Frieght Mangement

Truck, Rail, Air, Sea - Canada Cartage's Freight Management Solution specializes is servicing the United States and Canada through a unique offering that combines the benefits of the traditional freight forwarder's model of non-asset based brokerage with the security of being supported by Canada Cartage's fleet of trucks, trailers, cross-docks and warehouses. This unique combination leverages the buying power of a freight broker while also reducing the risk of service failure as it is backed by one of Canada's largest trucking fleets.

Canada Cartage's trucks are focused on providing dedicated trucking solutions providing the last-mile service. Traditional freight forwarders use long-haul trucking companies as the backbone of their offering. While both models use trucks, they are used to service different components of the supply chain. Canada Cartage is not regarded as a threat to long-haul carriers, thus creating a mutually beneficial working relationship that is uncommon between trucking companies. When combining the power of the freight forwarder's brokerage model with the security of a national footprint of trucks and drivers, the depth and security of the Canada Cartage model is difficult to beat.

Complementing our vast reach of trucking services is an array of rail, air and sea services that are deployed based on each customer's unique requirements.

Go ahead - make Canada yours.
